Charlotte's Ideas

Charlotte is under the impression we are moving today. When I explain to her we aren't moving for some time yet, she tries to convince me that we should just "go today 'pus my kitties wanna see the new house". ('pus = because)

I walked into the family room today after making breakfast, to find this.

Her animals are all packed up and ready to go. She even put some of them in dresses. Did you take notice they also have bags to go with them?

It is going to be a long seven weeks until we move. Edited to add: We are waiting to move in until right after Christmas. John is recruiting his brothers to help us move. They will be home from California and Alaska then. In the interim, we are going to remove a ton of wallpaper and paint. I am also planning on unpacking as much as possible before the big move-in day. All of our items are in storage, so I can start to unpack the kitchen dishes, etc. I know it will be nearly impossible to unpack while doing my normal daily activities once we are moved in.

Thanks to everyone for their congratulations. We are beyond excited!

Closing Day

This afternoon we will be closing our new home. We already did the final walk through yesterday evening. All we have to do now is sign our lives away and hand over our check. Today I am trying to keep busy with normal daily life. It's hard because I am so excited. Here are a few pics of the girls trying to distract me with their cuteness.

First Pigtails

Josie and Violet had their first pigtails in on Friday. These pictures are not the greatest. I had just put them in and planned on taking more when they were out of their highchairs. Of course, within 30 seconds of being free, their big sister pulled all four pigtails out.

When Did I Become "Mom"?

Charlotte has always called me "Mommy", but lately she has started calling me "mom". I didn't expect this until she reached 8 or 9 years old. I don't like it. I hope it is a short-lived phase and I go back to being mommy before I realize it.

She has picked up some other new language that I am not a fan of either. She isn't swearing, but still using terms or words that are inappropriate for my daughter to say. I am not sure where it is coming from... school? I explain these are words that aren't nice, that we don't use them in our house, so she shouldn't be using them either. I wish there was more of me to go around. I feel like Charlotte needs more of me than she is getting. That is the story of my life, isn't it? Wishing there was more of me to go around.
